The White Sox started off strong in the 1st inning! Eloy Jiménez singled on a ground ball to third baseman Maikel García, scoring Tim Anderson. Yoán Moncada singled on a ground ball to right fielder Nelson Velázquez to bring home Andrew Benintendi. Gavin Sheets’ 2-RBI single drove in Luis Robert Jr. and Eloy Jiménez. To cap off the inning, Elvis Andrus’ ground out brought Yoán Moncada across the plate to extend the White Sox lead to 5–0.
In the top of the 4th, Edward Olivares doubled in Bobby Witt Jr. to get the Royals on the board.
In the bottom of the 6th, Elvis Andrus added on another run with a ground ball to center fielder Drew Waters, scoring Andrew Vaughn.
Edward Olivares drove in another run for the Royals in the 8th.
Bryan Shaw, Lane Ramsey and Gregory Santos all provided innings of relief.
