The Marlins got on the board in the 7th as Xavier Edwards singled on a line drive to left fielder Andrew Benintendi, plating Dane Myers. In the bottom of the 9th, Bryan De La Cruz singled on a ground ball to Benintendi, scoring Vidal Bruján to cut the White Sox lead to 3–2.
