Amid a re-shuffle of their rotation, the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that left-hander Justin Wrobleski will get the start on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals. Wrobleski will take Blake Snell’s spot in the rotation. Snell was placed on the 10-day injured list yesterday with left shoulder inflammation. Another left-hander, Landon Knack, will get the start the day after to close out the Dodgers’ East Coast road trip.
Justin Wrobleski starts for the Dodgers tomorrow, Dave Roberts said. Landon Knack is in town, and the Dodgers need a starter Wednesday, too.

Dodgers Select Snell’s Replacement in Rotation Shuffle
Ailing Already
For his part, Snell says that his shoulder has been bothering him for three weeks, so much so that he had to cut his regular bullpen work short. As a precaution, he will see Dr. Neal ElAttrache while they are in Washington. Snell is hoping that it is a short stint on the IL in his first season in LA, but manager Dave Roberts says, “everything’s on the table, including an injection.”
Snell is expected to miss at least two starts. The Dodgers are hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself with the pitching injuries. Every member of the starting rotation spent time on the IL last season.
Ready in a Pinch
Justin Wrobleski should be used to this by now. He was called upon in a similar situation last year with mixed results. In his first start against the Houston Astros, the rookie gave up two runs. However, by the end of the season, his ERA had ballooned to 5.74. The Dodgers’ offense may have to carry the load in the last two games of the road trip.
A Knack for Pitching
Landon Knack was shuttled back and forth from Triple-A Oklahoma City to Los Angeles last season. He was an important part of bridging the gap in the bullpen last season. He had a 3-5 record with an ERA of 3.65 and one save.
The Dodgers are hoping that their patchwork rotation is only temporary. However, it is a long season, and the Dodgers’ depth will be tested. Los Angeles hopes that the depth will carry them deep into October.
