My alphabeticalish player-by-player review — @soxnerd style — of the 2024 White Sox continues with DAVIS MARTIN:
On Aug. 7, 2024, Martin became the 26th pitcher (33rd time) to throw at least six shutout innings at Oakland against the Sacramento-bound A’s.
The first was Joel Horlen on May 11, 1968.
Martin joins Jack McDowell (Sept. 25, 1987), Melido Perez (June 24, 1990), Tom Bradley (Aug. 10, 1972) and Jon Garland (April 10, 2007) as the only Sox starters to do this but not receive a decision.
