My alphabeticalish player-by-player review — @soxnerd style — of the 2024 White Sox continues with CHUCKIE ROBINSON:
Catcher is one of eight big league players born in Danville, Illinois.
He was the first from Danville to play for the White Sox although Danville’s Jim Marshall, a big leaguer from 1958 to 1962, was originally signed by the Sox in 1950 but never played for the team
Danville also produced Robin Yount, Gene Hackman, Dick Van Dyke, James Thomas Scopes and Zeke Bratkowski.
