My alphabetical review — @soxnerd style — of the 2023 White Sox continues with a look OSCAR COLAS:
The 25-year old outfielder was the first White Sox player to hit safely in his first big league plate appearance as a pinch-hitter on Opening Day since Frenchy Bordagary in 1934.
Colas and Bordagary joined Jorge Orta (1972), George Wilson (1952), Guy Curtright (1943), Thurman Tucker (1942), Harry Steinbacher (1937), Frenchy Uhalt (1934) and Spence Harris (1925) as Sox players to make an MLB debut as a pinch-hitter on Opening Day.
