My @SoxNerd style alphabetical review of the 2023 White Sox begins with HANSER ALBERTO:
The utilityman’s lone strikeout victim in his two mound appearances for the 2023 White Sox was Roberto Perez.
That’s the same Roberto Perez whom Carlos Rodon hit with a pitch to end his bid for a perfect game on April 14, 2021 at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Alberto whiffed Perez in the Sox 12-9 loss to the Giants on April 3rd, 719 days after Rodon clipped Perez with a backfoot slider after retiring 26 consecutive Cleveland batters.
Rodon went on to throw a no-hitter. Alberto went on to give up two singles before getting a fielder’s choice to end the ninth in a 12-3 loss in the home opener.
