CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs outfielders Cody Bellinger and Ian Happ are set to debut custom bats during Major League Baseball’s players weekend versus the Toronto Blue Jays, with Bellinger’s bat being Wrigley Field-themed.
According to a spokesperson, Bellinger’s Louisville Slugger PRIME bats will feature ivy, as a nod to the ivy-covered walls of Wrigley field, along with illustrations of barbed wire and a tribal stripe that says, “Otta Sluggasson.”
The spokesperson said the barbed wire and the tribal stripe reflect Cody’s ties to a character bearing that name in the video game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The character shares facial traits with Bellinger, who also provided the voice for him.

The spokesperson said Happ’s Louisville Slugger PRIME bats are all about coffee and his passion for it. Happ’s bats feature a rich brown coffee colored barrel, coffee beans, a couple of different coffee cups, a bag of coffee beans, his uniform number 8, and his “Happer” nickname.
