A 62-year-old man was critically injured Thanksgiving afternoon when he was struck by a gunshot fired from outside his West Garfield Park neighborhood home, according to Chicago police.
The man was struck in the head when gunfire came through the window of his residence in the 4000 block of West Monroe Street around 3:20 p.m., police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. It was unclear whether the man was the intended target.
No one is in custody.
