TOKYO — The Cubs got off to a sleepy start to open the 2025 MLB regular season Tuesday, losing to the Dodgers 4-1 at the Tokyo Dome.
While wild with four walks, Shota Imanaga held L.A. scoreless in four innings.
Catcher Miguel Amaya, who the Cubs hope takes a jump at the plate, got the scoring started by doubling in Swanson in the second.
Ben Brown replaced Shota in the fifth and the Dodgers jumped on him, scoring three runs.
The Dodgers added on in the top of the ninth after Teoscar Hernandez singled in Shohei Ohtani.
The Cubs look to even the series Wednesday morning at 5:10. Justin Steele will be on the hill.
