Teams are participating in Spring Breakout games again this season, a showcase where top prospects from each team face off in an exhibition of what is to come. The Cubs have two games this spring, one each against a pair of teams that call greater Los Angeles home. They’ll face the Dodgers on March 13 at Camelback Ranch, then they’ll host the Angels on March 15 at Sloan Park.
The Cubs roster features 14 of the system’s top 30 prospects as named by MLB Pipeline, headlined by Cade Horton and Moises Ballesteros. Brandon Birdsell and Brett Bateman are not included due to injury, but most prospects near the major league level are on there.
