If you haven’t already done so… check it out!
Today is what many call “Black Friday,” a day of sales as the holiday shopping season gets under way.
I know that many of you have already acquired your copy of “Chicago Cubs Firsts,” and for that, I thank you!
If you haven’t — here’s a great gift idea for all the Cubs fans in your life. (Or get one for yourself, if you don’t already have it!)
This book covers firsts in franchise history, going back to the very beginning of the team’s National League beginnings in 1876. There are also some firsts covered in the book, for this nearly 150-year-old franchise, that happened as recently as 2023.
The first that I’m most proud of uncovering is the very first date the iconic “W” flag first flew above the Wrigley Field scoreboard. No, I’m not going to tell you what that is here — you’ll have to get the book!
Seriously, I enjoyed researching these bits of Cubs history and I think you’ll like reading them. You can get “Chicago Cubs Firsts” at this link.
